Off the coast of Washington state lies a small group of islands known as the San Juan Islands. The largest of these is Orcas Island which is where we stayed during our visit. This horseshoe shaped island is filled with outdoor activities for visitors of all ages.
There is tons of hiking, kayaking, whale watching and shopping, all within this small island. During the day we would spend our time out in nature. While the afternoons we’d wander around Eastsound to do some shopping.
Below is the best shopping guide to Orca’s Island so that you can enjoy your time checking out the local shops!

I first discovered the simplistic designs of Material Wit at the Orca’s Island Farmers Market that happens every Saturday from May to September.
The designer and jewelry maker, Jessie Morrow, is effortlessly beautiful and genuinely kind. Her solid brass earrings immediately caught my eye, as their minimilistic design matches my own personal style.
The talented designer has created an extensive collection of handmade pieces showcasing the inspiration she’s gathered from her home of Orcas Island.
In Eastsound, Jessie owns her own shop where she has curated products from all over to create a cohesive space to sell these unique items.
Inside, there are one-of-a-kind works of art, clothing made by North of West from the finest quality materials, and an even larger selection of her solid brass and silver jewelry.
Be sure to stop in during your visit to Orcas Island and take home a unique piece that supports a local artist.
This beautiful boutique shop is located in the heart of Eastbound on Orcas Island.
It’s easy to see upon entering this small, local shop that everything was carefully thought out. From the picture perfect display’s to the hand picked items, it would be hard to leave empty handed.
Olga’s offers a quality selection of timeless pieces that should be added to every wardrobe. And not just in the form of clothing. Be sure to take a look at their colorful scarves and flattering jewelry.
They also have an adorable section devoted to items just for babies and small children.
Who doesn’t love a bookstore? And Darvill’s is not just any bookstore! It is one that is quaint and cozy and has the best ocean views.
The independent bookstore contains a large selection of books, ranging from travel to fiction to cookbooks to an entire children’s section.
Tucked in the back corner is a small coffee shop. As the barista’s create custom drinks, there is a distinct scent of fresh ground coffee beans that floats through the shop at all times.
Darvill’s is a place designed to stay awhile, where you will be encouraged to grab a cup of coffee and relax with a good book.
If you have a green thumb or are looking for the perfect gift to bring home for yourself or a friend, Nest might just be that shop.
Their country chic space is filled with a large collection of vibrant plants and succulents which can be customized for each individual lifestyle. I immediately wanted to purchase all of the succulents and the display they were in.
Nest also sells locally made products, such as soaps and candles that all smelled wonderful.
Located directly on the main street in Eastbound, Atelier Boutique is the best shop to find gifts that are specifically unique to Orcas Island and the Pacific Northwest.
Many of their cozy sweatshirts and soft tees are branded with fun logos depicting this region of the United States. Their small shop is filled with candles, pillows and wall art that is sure to bring back memories of your time spend on the island.
They also have the largest selection of stickers that I found on Orcas. So naturally, I had to purchase a few.
Orcas Island Pottery
Located just a short 3.5 miles outside of Eastsounds, Orcas Island Pottery is place you absolutely must visit. Off the main road you will take a turn down a long, tree-lined driveway. From there, continue following the signs until you reach the parking area. Then you proceed down the footpath down the the pottery shop and studio.
This place is truly unique and boasts one of the best views around. Situated high on the cliff, Orcas Island Pottery has a few different buildings that house their impressive pottery. They even have some outside on display.
Since 1945, Orcas Island Pottery has been creating many different shapes and styles of pottery in a wide range of colors.
We stayed here for quite some time admiring the handmade pottery and the views.
