Would you believe that the oldest pharmacy in the WORLD is hiding right here in Florence, Italy? 🇮🇹

Dating back to 1221, this stunning pharmacy was originally founded by Dominican friars. Today, you can wander through its beautifully preserved rooms filled with historic frescoes, perfumes, soaps, and other products.

The perfumes smell incredible and I picked up two when I was there: Angeli di Firenze and Cinquanta.

During our hosted trip with @laggiu_viaggi, a locally owned Italian travel company, we got to experience a side of Liguria we might never have discovered on our own.

Their local knowledge and thoughtfully planned itinerary introduced us to unique experiences, hidden gems, and the people who make this region so special.

Here’s some experiences you need to add to your Italian bucket list immediately:

🧗Grotta dell’Edera – Guided Cave Descent
Descend into the famous Grotta dell’Edera, a unique natural cave tucked into the Ligurian landscape. With a local guide leading the way, you’ll explore its incredible rock formations and experience a side of the region you wouldn’t find on a typical sightseeing itinerary.

🏺Albisola – Traditional Ceramic Workshop
Get hands-on with Liguria’s long-standing ceramic tradition during a workshop at a local ceramic school in Albisola. Learn from the owner, discover traditional techniques, and create something of your own to take home.

🍮Tiramisu Cooking Class

The Italian Riviera has so much more to offer and these towns in Liguria might be the regions best kept secret! 🇮🇹

From colorful seaside villages and medieval hilltop towns to local food (our favorite is trofie al pesto), artisan traditions (ceramics), and scenic coastal hikes & drives, this part of Liguria is full of places worth exploring.

We discovered these hidden gems as part of an itinerary thoughtfully curated by an Italian travel company, @laggiu_viaggi which introduced us to a different side of the Italian Riviera.

📍 VARIGOTTI 
🌊 Relax on the Baia dei Saraceni, known for its clear turquoise water. 🏘️ Wander through the colorful seaside village. 🥾 Hike the Sentiero del Pellegrino for incredible coastal views.

📍 VEREZZI 
🏡 Explore the four historic stone hamlets tucked into the hillside. 🌅 Visit Piazza Sant’Agostino for panoramic views over the Ligurian coast. 🥾 Walk the scenic trails around Monte Orera through olive groves.

📍 FINALBORGO
